DebtBoss Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Bashboundgames Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15410686), 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the DebtBoss app, you agree to them.

1. What DebtBoss is — and is not

DebtBoss is a planning and motivation tool. It helps you organise debts you enter yourself, visualise repayment approaches, and stay motivated with game mechanics.

DebtBoss is not:

  • a provider of financial, debt, or investment advice — all figures are illustrative estimates based on information you enter, and repayment methods (snowball, avalanche, your own order) are presented neutrally for you to choose between;
  • a lender, bank, or payment service — the app never connects to your accounts and never moves money;
  • a debt management or debt counselling service. If you're struggling, free help is available from StepChange, National Debtline, MoneyHelper, and Citizens Advice.

Decisions about your money are yours. Verify important figures against your lender's statements.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 to use DebtBoss. Keep your login details secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account; deletion is immediate and irreversible (see the Privacy Policy for details on data).

3. Subscriptions (DebtBoss Premium)

  • Premium is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms.
  • We may change what's included in Premium; if we materially reduce it during your paid period, you may contact us for a remedy.

4. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app: no reverse engineering, no attempting to access other users' data, no using the AI features to generate unlawful or abusive content, and no automated scraping. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

5. AI features

AI-generated responses and images are produced by machine-learning models and can be inaccurate. AI coaching output is general information, never advice about what you should do with your specific debts. You must have the right to any photo you upload for avatar generation.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its artwork (including the monsters), and its content are ours or our licensors'. Your data — the debts, payments, and notes you enter — is yours; you grant us the licence needed to operate the service (store, process, display it back to you).

7. Service availability

We aim to keep DebtBoss available but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, change, or discontinue features. Where we discontinue the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise: the app is provided "as is"; we are not liable for losses arising from decisions you make based on the app's illustrative figures, for indirect losses, or for events outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app and take effect 30 days after posting. Continuing to use DebtBoss after that means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to its courts (or your local courts where consumer law gives you that right).
